How to make a extremely funny Italian-Canadian
comedy:
Get
one loving but slightly dysfunctional Italian family, add one pot
of sauce, a pinch of innuendo, a hint of jealousy, and a sliver
of adultery; then let it heat up, simmer, then boil until pots start
crashing, dishes start breaking, accusations start flying, marriages
crumble, couples break-up, friendships are ruined and the family
falls apart yelling and cursing at each other…all over Sunday
lunch.
Thicker even than the sauce prepared for Sunday lunch is Don Peppino
Priore’s head. Don Peppino, green with jealousy, takes this
special family moment to accuse his loving wife Donna Rosa of having
an affair with the charming, handsome and long time friend, Luigi
Ianiello in the presence of his family and friends. In the chaos
that ensues, insults, accusations and spaghetti fly. But blood is
thicker than sauce, and by Monday all is resolved…almost…until
next Sunday.
